Hand-Painted Barro Pitcher | Turquoise Dotted Design
Vivid turquoise, the color of a clear Caribbean sea, comes alive with thousands of tiny white dots. Rows of navy rosettes with tiny orange centers circle the body between delicate bursts of white dots, creating a dense, shimmering pattern that rewards a closer look. This is capulineado, the patient dotting technique from Mexico named for the small, dark capulín cherry. Every dot was placed one at a time, by hand, by skilled artisans in Mexico.
Made from barro (traditional Mexican clay), the jarra has a graceful, tapered body that widens at the belly, a gently curved pouring lip, and a sturdy handle in the same bright blue. The smooth, glossy finish makes the color glow, and the terracotta interior shows at the opening for a warm contrast. Because the patterns are painted entirely by hand, each jarra is one of a kind.
Set it on a dining table, kitchen counter, or sideboard as a bold accent, or fill it with fresh or dried flowers, eucalyptus, or branches for a vibrant arrangement. The bright blue pairs beautifully with neutral, boho, coastal, and Mexican-inspired decor. It makes a memorable gift for housewarmings, weddings, birthdays, and anyone who loves handmade pieces.
