Hand-Painted Barro Tripod Bowl with Spoon | Teal & Coral
Deep teal on the outside and glowing peach-coral on the inside, this little bowl is a surprise from every angle. Outside, white and golden rosettes bloom between fans of sage-green leaves, and a border of lavender petals and tiny yellow flowers circles the rim. Inside, coral medallions ringed in white dots sit beside navy leaves. A matching hand-painted spoon with coral rosettes down its handle rests in the bowl. This is capulineado, the patient dotting technique from Mexico named for the small, dark capulín cherry, paired here with hand-painted floral and leaf motifs. Every dot and brushstroke was applied by hand by skilled artisans in Mexico.
Made from barro (traditional Mexican clay), this molcajetito takes its shape from the classic molcajete, with a deep, rounded body on three sculpted legs, each painted with its own accents. The smooth matte finish keeps the natural feel of the clay, and because everything is painted freehand, no two sets are exactly alike.
Use it as a small catch-all for rings, keys, and trinkets, or place it on a table or shelf as a colorful accent. It also works as a pretty holder for dried flowers, small stones, or tea lights. Its vibrant palette suits boho, eclectic, and Mexican-inspired spaces. It makes a joyful gift for housewarmings, weddings, birthdays, and anyone who loves bright handmade pieces.
