Hand-Painted Barro Planter | Slate Gray
Soft slate gray, scattered with hundreds of tiny white and black dots, gives this little planter a calm, modern look. The dots drift across the surface in a fine, even pattern, and a warm terracotta interior shows at the rim for a lovely contrast. This is capulineado, the patient dotting technique from Mexico named for the small, dark capulín cherry. Every dot was placed one at a time, by hand, by skilled artisans in Mexico.
Made from barro (traditional Mexican clay), this maceta has a compact, straight-sided shape with softly rounded edges and a drainage hole in the base. The matte, hand-painted finish keeps the natural feel of the clay, and because every dot is painted freehand, no two planters are exactly alike.
It’s a good home for a succulent, cactus, or small herb on a windowsill, desk, or shelf. The neutral gray lets the green of your plant stand out, and it suits modern, minimalist, Scandinavian, boho, and Mexican-inspired spaces. Grouped with other pieces in your home, it adds a handmade touch. It makes a thoughtful gift for housewarmings, birthdays, and anyone who loves plants and handmade pieces.
