Hand-Painted Barro Shallow Bowl | Pink Mandala
Soft blush pink holds a mandala of dots at its center, where petals of white, periwinkle, coral, and green radiate outward in perfect rhythm. Around them, rings of tiny dots lead to a border of coral and periwinkle medallions framed by white leaves on the inside wall. Outside, coral fans and green dot accents wrap the base. This is capulineado, the patient dotting technique from Mexico named for the small, dark capulín cherry. Every dot and brushstroke was applied by hand, one at a time, by skilled artisans in Mexico.
Made from barro (traditional Mexican clay), this wide, shallow cajete has a gently curved wall and a smooth rim. The glossy finish makes the pastel and jewel tones glow, and because everything is painted freehand, no two pieces are exactly alike.
Display it as a centerpiece on a dining table or console, lean it on a stand as wall-style art, or use it as a catch-all for keys, jewelry, and small treasures. Its pink and coral palette brings a feminine, festive energy that suits boho, eclectic, cottage, and Mexican-inspired spaces. It makes a standout gift for housewarmings, weddings, Mother’s Day, birthdays, and anyone who loves vibrant, handmade pieces.
